Match Report
Tonbridge School 5th XI vs  Radley College
On: Saturday, 12 Jan 2019
Venue: Away

Radley away is a classic senior team opening fixture and the team needed to get used to the road given that six of the nine fixtures this term are away.

Radley offered a physical challenge with a large but largely unskilled team. We played all the football and dominated possession and territory in the first half. There were relatively few clear cut chances as our final ball tended to be a little too slow. In the second half their large and fast striker broke through more regularly. Saunes pulled off a great save but we also conceded one. Jones hurt his hip and we were reduced to 10 men as the referee wouldn't let our sub on while he was running the line. We equalised while playing with 10 men through Baker before Baker's father's willingness to run the line enabled us to return to full strength. We fought hard to equalise and although more even in the second half and under a bit more pressure, we continued to play well. Then, devastatingly, their striker broke through to score and the ref blew up for full time immediately after the restart. It was a solid away performance but we need to make more clear cut chances and take them when we do.
