Match Report
Tonbridge School U16C vs  Haileybury
On: Saturday, 16 Mar 2019
Venue: at Home

Another pleasing win in difficult windy conditions. We started well with lots of possession but couldn't make a breakthrough, with the coach deciding to leave leading scorer Pearl on the bench. We eventually scored through Innes after a neat turn and shot which squirmed under the keeper's body. With the breakthrough made, we became more confident but couldn't get a second into the wind and it was 1-0 at half time.

The second half was better, with again the wind meaning flowing football was difficult, but we scored a pleasing second goal with a long range free kick from Hector, hit high and dipping down to go in via the crossbar, for his first Tonbridge goal. Confidence further grew and Hector repeated the trick a few minutes later, using the wind to good effect. Further goals followed from Innes, Pearl and Garrard to flatter us slightly but Haileybury picked up a deserved consolation on the stroke of full time. An enjoyable experience despite the conditions and we continue on to our final match against St John's.
